As soon as we knew snow was coming to Michigan Mark and I flew there to complete the shoots we couldn't finish last time due to lack of the white stuff.
So, we met (again) in Detroit and drove across the sate back to
And we did get our shots! Here are a few snippets....we shot the house and the exterior for next winter issue so you will have to wait to get the full beauty of the whole place....
ANGELA AND I TRYING TO WARM UP........
And I got to visit with little Sidney again...still wanted to take him home............I wanted too but he is very happy there and my kitty Lilly just died a few days before I left for the shoots and I was not ready to get another kitty yet....I miss her so much. At least I could give some love to this little fur ball....

The other holiday shoot we did was in northern Michigan and, there, we had PLENTY of snow!
We drove to
delightful farmhouse. I have been kidding Maria because I so wanted a cup of coffee---she had graciously brewed a fresh pot--but she and Karl were off to church and when I went to pour myself a cup I could not find any milk! No regular, reduced fat or fat free, not a drop of milk to be found in spite of the fact that Maria's parents have a
D A I R Y FARM! Turned out she had forgotten to get some! Well, I had to joke that we drove over 2 hours to come to the farm and....NO milk! Anyway, Karl went to get some when they came back from church. By then I was fading away. Can't function without 4 or 5 cups in the morning. I am sure the caffeine is what keeps me going through all the shoots.
We had a fabulous time and made friends with their big labrador, Merle, and their little kitten "Kitty". The two are inseparable. It's just priceless.
Maria and Karl are adorable.
Meeting them and the Kuncaitis family was so worth the 2 trips to Michigan. I am so lucky to get to know all the wonderful people I get to meet on shoots. Totally blessed!
Here is the lovely Maria and me at the end of the day
with Mark and Maria
We grabbed some cool scenic shots on the way back
LOVED being in the snow. It was truly a winter wonderland.
I came home to sunny and warm Florida last night and have to switch back to the heat. Quite an adjustment (80 degrees today!)
Stay tuned for the next adventure!
By the way, the first issue will be on the newsstands mid APRIL (not March as I previously said. My bad!! Sorry.)
See you soon.

It all looks like a dream, almost making me want Christmas already (but I long for warm weather for my garden). You are beautiful in all the photos and I like seeing the people whose houses and grounds you & Mark are visiting!
About Lily, I know Zeke & Buttercup are looking after her as they're calling Giles to come join them now too.
Love from Healdsburg.

Wow Fifi! Did this new blog just get up and running? Love it! I'm a Michigander and it was 55 degrees today! Can't wait until your new issue comes out! So sorry to hear about your dear kittly passing away. I hope your heart will be healed with all your wonderful memories. It takes time to grieve the loss of our dear fur babies. I can't believe my 2 little shih tzus are already 9 and 10! I'm going to stop commenting now so I can take a look around your gorgeous space on the net!

Fifi! So sorry to hear about the loss of your dear sweet kittie. Losing our pets is like losing family because they are such an integral part of our lives, they ARE family. The photographs are outstanding! I'm a Michigander so I can't wait to see the magazine when it comes out but it will be a long wait to see winter the winter photo shoot. It's supposed to be 65 degrees today in Michigan. If you ever get a chance go to the western side of the state and drive the coastline and stop in some of the gorgeous little coastal towns. Michigan truly is a beautiful state and I'm proud to be a Michigander. Congrats on your new projects!

I'm very sad to read about Lilly. She was such a special kitty with the loudest purr & she could always clean up everyone else's food dish! I'm sure Lucy & Daisy will miss her. It's so sad to lose a beloved pet, I know only too well.

Hello Fifi!
Seeing this post about your magazine makes me very excited to see it when it hits the magazine stands next month...I can't wait! I'm sorry to read about your little Lily. What a wonderful job you have...it must be so much fun (and a lot of work) styling and photographing all these wonderful homes. I had to laugh at the lack of milk in the dairy farmers daughters home LOL! I hope you're able to stay home for a bit so you can enjoy your own sweet home for a while. Enjoy the last of your weekend.
