Really loving my new prairie table! Giving me plenty of inspiration for next issue......
Even found a pack of wooden spoons with the right size handles to fit in the holes at Home Goods for $2.99 for 8. What a bargain!! Now I just have to age them so they will look like the ones that came with the table.
I didn't paint the pink drawers and legs. The table came like that.
I already had the chair but I am getting a bench similar to this one
It is made by Shawn (a local craftsman) from salvage heart pine and comes unpainted so I will paint and age it too. Shawn is making it 4 1/2 feet long (the table is 5 feet) so I will be able to slide underneath the table if I want to. Very cool!
Don't worry, I still have my pretty pink table
but it's now in the living room, which I am redoing (again!)So, more on that later........

i have a table like that, it's a french wine tasting table, for the spoons; soak them in strong tea with a shot of vanilla, that makes them darker. stop by & say hi :) gio

Hi Fifi,
Love the table, the chair and the spoons too! Laura told me you were re-doing your living room, I cannot wait to see, know it will be breathtakingly beautiful.
So happy you still have your old, pink table.
Look for the magazine every time I go to store... just in case it's released early.

I have a chef friend who has a table much the same - I'd love to find one for myself! You can age wood by dipping steel wool in cider vinegar and rubbing it on the wood. It will darken any dings or scrapes more, so bang the new spoons up a little first!

Hi Fifi! I was in Safeway last week and came across your Romantic Prairie Style magazine. As I thumbed through it I recognized you from your blog! Congratulations! What a great magazine!
And I was thrilled to finally have a name for my style of decorating. I've been working on my bedroom for awhile and finished it this spring... and just got pictures posted on my blog today. It's not a magazine room... and I'm not a professional photographer... but I love how it turned out. Thanks for sharing your ideas!
